Chairing Session at ICT.OPEN 2025

Serving as session chair at ICT.OPEN 2025, the Netherlands' premier ICT research conference.

I'm serving as a session chair at ICT.OPEN 2025, taking place on April 9-10, 2025. This is the Netherlands' flagship event bringing together ICT researchers, industry partners, and policymakers. ICT.OPEN is the annual conference organized by the Dutch Research Council (NWO) that showcases cutting-edge ICT research from across the Netherlands, serving as a platform for researchers to present their latest findings, an opportunity for industry-academia collaboration, a networking venue for the Dutch ICT research community, and a forum for discussing future research directions and funding opportunities.

As session chair, I'll be facilitating discussions on topics aligned with SPEAR Lab's research interests including edge computing and infrastructure (next-generation edge systems and their performance), network measurements (characterizing modern Internet infrastructure), satellite networks (LEO constellations and their integration with terrestrial networks), and distributed systems (scalability and reliability in edge-cloud continuum).

The conference is particularly important for research visibility (showcasing work from Dutch universities and research institutes), fostering collaboration between academia and industry, understanding NWO priorities and funding mechanisms, and strengthening ties within the Dutch ICT research community. This participation reflects SPEAR Lab's active role in the Dutch research ecosystem. As part of TU Delft's Computer Science department, we're committed to contributing to national research agendas, collaborating with Dutch industry partners, mentoring the next generation of ICT researchers, and advancing the state-of-the-art in edge computing and networking.

Looking forward to engaging discussions and meeting colleagues from across the Dutch ICT research community! If you're interested in SPEAR Lab's work on edge computing, satellite networks, or Internet measurements, please stop by during the conference.
