Digital Twins for Responsible 6G Network Environments

Sehan Samarakoon is an industrial PhD candidate in the Networked Systems Group at TU Delft, conducted in collaboration with VodafoneZiggo. He is supervised by Prof. Dr. Fernando Kuipers and co-supervised by Dr. Nitinder Mohan. His research focuses on digital twins for responsible 6G network environments.
Sehan's work investigates the application of digital twin technology in next-generation 6G networks, developing frameworks to model and simulate network behavior for proactive management. His research addresses security challenges in 6G core networks and analyzes performance characteristics of next-generation networks integrated with edge computing infrastructure.
Prior to joining TU Delft, Sehan worked as a Research Trainee at Elisa Corporation, gaining experience in 5G/6G network technologies and core network security. He holds a Master's degree in Wireless Communication Engineering from the University of Oulu, Finland. As an industrial PhD candidate employed by VodafoneZiggo, his research ensures practical relevance and validation in operational network environments.
