ACM EdgeSys Best Paper Award
ACM Workshop on Edge Systems, Analytics and Networking
Recognized for pioneering work in managing heterogeneous virtualization technologies across distributed edge infrastructures.

Giovanni Bartolomeo is a PhD candidate at the Chair of Connected Mobility at the Technical University of Munich (TUM), Germany, supervised by Prof. Dr. Jörg Ott. His research focuses on edge and cloud computing, with particular emphasis on service orchestration and container networking solutions for heterogeneous edge infrastructures.
Giovanni is lead developer and co-founder of Oakestra, an open-source lightweight hierarchical orchestration framework for edge computing. The project has received multiple awards and is used by research groups and companies globally. His work addresses challenges in orchestrating services and managing resources in distributed edge computing environments, including container networking solutions and intelligent service management.
He is an active contributor to the 6G-life project, working on next-generation network computing paradigms and edge infrastructure solutions. His research has been published at leading conferences in systems and networking.
