Marco Colocrese🇮🇹
Efficient 6G Core Network Function Orchestration

Marco Colocrese is a PhD candidate in the Networked Systems Group at TU Delft, conducted in collaboration with VodafoneZiggo. He is supervised by Prof. Dr. Fernando Kuipers and co-supervised by Dr. Nitinder Mohan. His research focuses on efficient 6G core network function orchestration.
Marco's work investigates orchestration mechanisms for 6G core network functions, addressing the challenges of managing complex network services in next-generation mobile networks. He develops intelligent orchestration frameworks for virtualized network functions, investigates Service Management and Orchestration (SMO) in O-RAN architectures, and applies AI/ML techniques to automate network function placement and lifecycle management.
Prior to joining TU Delft in October 2024, Marco worked as a Core Network Engineer at Huawei Deutschland, gaining experience in mobile core network design, network function orchestration, and 5G architecture. His research is conducted in partnership with VodafoneZiggo, enabling validation in real-world network environments.
