Wei Geng is a PhD candidate at the Chair of Connected Mobility at the Technical University of Munich (TUM), Germany, supervised by Prof. Dr. Jörg Ott and co-supervised by Dr. Nitinder Mohan from TU Delft. His research focuses on accelerating Extended Reality (XR) applications using edge computing infrastructure.

Wei's work investigates the challenges and opportunities of deploying Extended Reality applications at the network edge. He addresses the computational and networking requirements of VR, AR, and MR systems, developing solutions to offload and distribute XR processing tasks across edge infrastructure to meet stringent latency and throughput requirements. His research optimizes system architectures and protocols for real-time XR rendering, tracking, and interaction.
